Change Your Life…Go Vegan
The vegan lifestyle is becoming more popular today than ever before. Celebrities are taking to the vegan diet to shed excess pounds from their bodies and the public is noticing it. There is a high percentage of people who are vegan for the compassionate reasons, but I’m willing to bet that a high percentage of people going vegan today is for health reasons. I myself went vegan beck when my doctor demanded I get on cholesterol lowering meds. I was turned onto the movie “Forks Over Knives” and within 30 days my cholesterol dropped 50 points. In 30 days I felt alive again, and since then never looked back. I did change to pescatarian (eats fish) for a few months, but it was at that time I really started looking at animals in a different light and went back to full veganism.
If you are thinking about taking on a vegan lifestyle, I would say go for it. You really don’t miss the things you think you are going to be without. In fact you open yourself up to trying new things more often. The health benefits are life changing and when you can reverse things like heart disease and diabetes by simply changing your diet, it’s amazing.
Here is a great video from Oprah Winfrey’s 1 week vegan challenge. It’s a good look at going vegan, but I would say give yourself a 30 day challenge.
Veganism is on the rise and it’s exciting to witness. Here is some statistics on a good infographic.
